NH DHHS, Division of Public Health Services (DPHS)
The Division of Public Health Services is responsible for providing leadership and core public health capacity for NH citizens. The mission of DPHS is to assure the health and well being of communities and populations in NH by protecting and promoting the physical, mental and environmental health of its citizens, and by preventing disease, injury and disability.

NH Department of Safety, Bureau of Emergency Management
The NH Department of Safety protects the lives, property and environment of the people of New Hampshire from the threat or occurrence of emergencies resulting from any natural or man-made disaster, including but not limited to flood, fire, earthquake, windstorm, tsunami, technological incidents, drought, terrorism, epidemic, hurricanes and tornadoes.

NH Department of Environmental Services
The mission of the Department of Environmental Services is to help sustain a high quality of life for all citizens by protecting and restoring the environment and public health in New Hampshire.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is recognized as the lead federal agency for protecting the health and safety of people - at home and abroad, providing credible information to enhance health decisions, and promoting health through strong partnerships. CDC serves as the national focus for developing and applying disease prevention and control, environmental health, and health promotion and education activities designed to improve the health of the people of the United States.

American Public Health Association (APHA)
The American Public Health Association (APHA) is the oldest and largest organization of public health professionals in the world. APHA has been influencing policies and setting priorities in public health for over 125 years. Throughout its history it has been in the forefront of numerous efforts to prevent disease and promote health.

New Hampshire Public Health Association (NHPHA)
The New Hampshire Public Health Association (NHPHA) is a membership organization committed to strengthening the public health system to more effectively protect and improve the health and safety of the residents of New Hampshire. In support of this mission, the NHPHA brings together all people and organizations in the state committed to improving the public’s health and advocates on behalf of public health issues. The NHPHA was incorporated in 1992 as a 501c(3) private, not-for-profit organization, and in January 2004, declared 501c(3)(h) status.

Healthy People 2010
Healthy People 2010 is the prevention agenda for the Nation. It is a statement of national health objectives designed to identify the most significant preventable threats to health and to establish national goals to reduce these threats.

National Association of County and City Health Officials
NACCHO is the national organization representing local public health agencies. NACCHO works to support efforts that protect and improve the health of all people and all communities by promoting national policy, developing resources and programs, seeking health equity and supporting effective local public health practice and systems.

National Health Observance Dates
Health observances are days, weeks, or months devoted to promoting particular health concerns.
